​Donations to the Locomotive Project
Progress with building the Crampton locomotive depends entirely on your generosity. So far, we have raised £250,000 from donations. This has enabled us to complete the boiler and firebox, and to begin work on the chassis (frames, stretchers and buffer beams). We are aiming to raise another £750,000, which will complete the locomotive and pay for a suitably equipped and secure shed, workshop and office. We will thus be able to house, maintain and manage the locomotive’s future work schedule. Once an income stream is established, we will also be able to embark on our second major project: the construction of 4 replica South Eastern Railway boat train coaches.

Sponsor a Spoke
At present, we are appealing for donations to pay for the patterns, casting, machining, steel tyre fitting, axle production and assembly of the three wheelsets for the Crampton locomotive. We have divided the total cost by the total number of spokes, resulting in a sponsorship cost of £1,430 for each spoke, regardless of size.
You may either pay for the sponsorship in a single sum, or instruct your bank to pay the sum of £119 into the Trust’s account monthly for 12 months. Donations made in the name of a club or society are welcome.

Sponsors will receive a full colour A3 Victorian-style certificate, and an A3 colour print of the watercolour painting of Crampton No. 81 at speed near Penshurst.
When our appeal for the wheelsets is completed, we will launch a further appeal for the production of the cylinders.
Commercial Sponsorship
Should your company or organization wish to sponsor a component or assist us in another way, we would welcome any proposals you might wish to make. We would be open to discussion as to how our Trust might assist you in return, perhaps through the inclusion of your logo and details of your support on all Trust publicity.
